The initial mistake that most guys make is that they start the first date and talk everything regarding themselves, sort of strut around telling the girl that he has got this car, and he has got this career and he talks and talks and talks bragging about this and that attempting to impress the girl that he is a good catch.
What a girl sees is a self-centered ego maniac that isn't going to be able to look after her at all, because he isn't serious about her and doesn't listen to what she wants to talk about. A bad relationship prospect.
One other way of saying it is that guys try to be interesting. They figure they have to be interesting for a girl to be thinking about them. Sorry guys, but it does not work exactly that way. You should be interested in the girl, not interesting to obtain her attention. Did you ever see two interesting persons on a date. It's hilarious! They're both so busy trying to be interesting to the other that neither has time to be interested in another.
If you do not know what We are talking about, think what makes you feel better. A girl who is keen on you? Or a girl who is letting you know how cool she is, how hot she really is, and so on, and all kinds of other interesting things.
Interesting leads to many rejections and "platonic" friendships incidentally. Girls can be friends with a guy who is really interesting. Why? Girls enjoy being amused and entertained. Interesting guys are kind of like children to them. An origin of non-sexual amusement and pleasure.
